Welcome to Teller Canyon Forge! We're Ken Smith and Ellen Van Landingham. Here you'll find some examples of our work, an explanation how we make knives, why we do it that way, and other related information. Take a few minutes and have a look around.

Every blade we make is fully hand-forged to shape, heat treated and hand-finished by us. We don't have a bunch of standard patterns and models. The knives we make are either made to meet a customer's requirements or the result of our urge to create something.
Good knives need good design with thoughtful consideration of their intended use. This requires that the right blade size, profile and edge geometry, handle size and balance point along with the right materials and heat treatment are all in harmony with overall appearance, symmetry and flow. We try very hard to bring all of these together smoothly in every knife we make.
Knives are one of mankind's oldest tools. We make knives from new alloy and low-alloy carbon steels using traditional construction methods with modern adhesives and sealers. The result is that our knives have the look of older, traditional knives with the performance and durability of modern materials. You can read about how we make knives and the materials we use in Forging, Heat Treatment, and Finishing.
With proper care and barring abuse, you'll get many years of use out of a knife we make for you. We stand behind our work:
If a knife we make for you fails to meet your expectations in the use for which it was designed, we'll repair or replace it or simply take it back and give you a refund.
While you're here, take a moment to see some examples of our work.
We will make a knife to your specific requirements. If you have something in mind or just want to discuss the possiblities, take a look at Custom Work and then feel free to email, write or call us.
Thanks for stopping by!
